The products are the Madly Kimono "remake" project. By upcycling these vintage textiles, I am preserving the artistry of the original Japanese weaver while creating a functional, one-of-a-kind item. My sewing process is organic and intuitive—ensuring that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

❤️ Care & Maintenance

This piece is a delicate fragment of textile history. Because vintage Japanese silks and dyes were often natural and not treated with modern chemical fixatives, they require specific care:

  • Avoid Moisture: Protect the bag from rain and spills. Water can cause traditional dyes or metallic threads to spot or bleed.
  • Cleaning: Do not machine wash or dry clean. Spot clean only with a dry, soft cloth if necessary.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the vibrant colors and metallic sheen.

🎁 Where do you ship?

Currently, I ship to the United States, Canada, and Japan only. Each order is hand-packed by me in my studio!

🌎 International Shipping (Canada & Japan)

I love sending my upcycled creations back to Japan and across the border to Canada! Please note that since these items ship from my studio in the US, your local customs office may charge an import fee or tax upon delivery. These fees are determined by your local government and are the responsibility of the buyer. I hope you understand!

⏰ How long will it take to get my order?

Since I am a one-person studio, I typically ship orders within 3–5 business days. You will receive a tracking number via email the moment your treasure is on its way.

📦 Can I return a one-of-a-kind item?

Because these are unique vintage remakes, all sales are final. However, if there is an issue with your order or damage during shipping, please email me at madlykimono+shop [at] gmail [dot] com within 10 days of shipping date so I can take care of you.
