❤️ The Heart Behind Madly Kimono

The creative potential of vintage Japanese textiles is endless.

If you’ve ever looked at a stunning silk Kimono or an intricately woven Obi and wondered if those traditional arts could have a place in a modern wardrobe, I’ve shared that same curiosity.

Growing up in Japan, I was taught that Kimono came with strict rules and formalities. Today, my mission is to show you that when it comes to creativity, there are no rules—only possibilities.

From Tradition to Transformation

Madly Kimono is the result of my journey to make these storied textiles accessible, functional, and wearable for today. What began as a personal exploration has grown into a studio dedicated to:

🧵 Upcycling Experiments: Giving vintage Obi and Kimono a second life as structured, one-of-a-kind accessories.

✨ Thrifting Adventures: Rescuing hidden textile gems and preserving the craftsmanship of the original weavers.

👘 Kitsuke Practice: Honoring the traditional art of wearing Kimono while making it fun and approachable.

My Philosophy

Every piece in this shop is a "remake"—an organic, intuitive process where the fabric dictates the form. By bringing these vintage silks into your daily life, you aren't just wearing a bag; you are carrying a piece of Japanese history.

My hope is that these explorations spark your curiosity and encourage you to feel at home in your own creative journey.

🙏 Thank you for supporting slow fashion and the preservation of vintage Japanese artistry.
